Description
Direct Ignition Coil
A direct ignition coil sits directly on top of the spark plug, eliminating the need for spark plug wires. This system, commonly known as a coil-on-plug (COP) ignition setup, assigns one ignition coil per spark plug, ensuring precise and efficient performance.
Coil-on-plug ignition systems are standard in most modern vehicles, valued for their compact design, superior performance, lower emissions, and minimal maintenance requirements. Apart from routine spark plug replacements, these systems generally require little upkeep, with occasional coil replacements being the main concern compared to traditional ignition setups.
Symptoms of Direct Ignition Coil Failure:
- Decreased fuel efficiency
- Loss of power
